PRAGUE, Czech Republic – Sunday, November 17, 2019 marked 30 years since the fall of Communism in the Czech Republic. An estimated 40,000 people attended “Festival svobody” (Freedom festival) in downtown Prague to celebrate this historic and revered defeat in Czech history. The day was a party-like atmosphere with unreasonably warm weather, allowing Czechs and others combined to sip beer along Národní Street and enjoy the concerts, art installations, speeches, and parades which spanned from 10:00 to midnight.
